  • Chandigarh, July 28 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that media has a very important role as the fourth pillar of democracy. The role of media has become even more important today.
  • The Chief Minister was interacting with the media persons after inaugurating the newly established Media Centre at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi today. He said that media centres have been set up at all the district headquarters in Haryana. In this series, a media centre equipped with various facilities has been set up at Haryana Bhawan at a cost of Rs 41.75 lakh.
  • The Chief Minister said that Haryana Government has started many schemes for the welfare of the media persons. Under the pension scheme in Haryana, monthly pension facility of Rs. 10,000 is being given to the media persons and 125 media persons are so far getting this pension. Under the scheme, which was started from December, 2017, an amount of more than Rs. two crore has so far been disbursed as pension.
  • He said that financial assistance is provided through Journalist Welfare Fund for the emergent medical treatment of media persons and their dependents or on their demise. The Haryana Government has also provided facility of group insurance to the media persons from Rs. five lakh to Rs. 20 lakh.
  • Others present on this occasion included Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Amit Arya, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. Sameer Pal Srow, and Additional Resident Commissioner, Haryana Bhawan, Mr. Chander Shekhar Khare.
  • Chandigarh, July 28 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that in the last three years, the Paudhgiri Abhiyan launched for environmental protection has achieved great success in Haryana. The State Government has linked lakhs of schoolchildren with this campaign of environmental protection. Even this year, a target has been set to associate 22 lakh students of government and private schools with the scheme.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal was speaking in the plantation drive and art festival organized by Faridabad Navchetna Trust, HSVP, Faridabad Municipal Corporation and Bharat Vikas Parishad under Jal Shakti Abhiyan at Faridabad today.
  • The Chief Minister said that plants should be loved like children and served like parents. After some years, these plants will become trees and serve the people throughout life. He said that all the schoolchildren from class VI to ten plus two, who are associated with this campaign, have been asked to send photos by geo tagging of their planted plants to ensure their survival. If the students will again send photo with the same plant after six months, the government will send Rs 50 each to their bank accounts. After one year, the students will again send a photo and this cycle will continue for three years, then every child will get Rs 600 in their bank accounts. A student studying class VI can continue this cycle up to class ten plus two. “In such a way, we are going to do this great work of environmental protection”, he added.
  • The Chief Minister said that at present, Haryana has only 3.5 percent forest area, whereas it is 25 to 30 per cent in many states. The forest area in the state should also be increased along with the pace of development. He congratulated the Faridabad Navchetna Trust for distributing, planting and taking care of plants for the last several years and said that it is a great resolution for humanity and future generations. He said that 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' was launched in 2015 and after that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched and now efforts would be made for the success of Jal Shakti Abhiyan for water conservation.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, equitable development has taken place all over the state from Hodal to Dabwali and from Mahendragarh to Yamunanagar and on the basis of this development, BJP will fulfill its resolution of 75 plus seats in the Assembly Elections. Regarding the Paudhgiri Abhiyan, he said that this campaign was launched many years ago in Faridabad and this time, it has been carried forward by sowing crores of seeds in the Aravali mountain range. More than 2.5 crore plants are being distributed with resolution letter. He called upon all the industrialists from the city, RWAs, social-religious institutions and administrative departments to carry further this campaign.
  • National Organising Secretary, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Mr. Suresh Jain praised steps taken by the Haryana Government for the Paudhgiri Abhiyan and environmental protection. 
  • Earlier, the Chief Minister, along with thousands of people, launched the planting drive by planting ‘Triveni’ in Town Park Sector-12, Faridabad.
  • Chandigarh, July 28 – The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has once again appreciated the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program for his dedicated and selfless service, and for implementing new schemes. Earlier, the Prime Minister had appreciated Haryana in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program for successfully implementing the nationwide campaign of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.

  • While expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that through ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, the Prime Minister has praised ‘Jal Hee Jeevan’ scheme launched in nine paddy dominated districts of the state where other crops have been grown instead of paddy, which require less water. This step of Haryana has given the message of water conservation to people of the country. 
  • The Chief Minister said that the appreciation by the Prime Minister will encourage the Haryana Government to work harder for water conservation.
