    • Chandigarh September 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that clean water would soon flow into the river Ghaggar passing through the State as the Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs) installed in the major townships along the river is expected to be made fully functional by next year. 
    • Mr Manohar Lal was speaking at a programme “Rally for Rivers’’ organized at Tagore Theater here today. 
    • He appreciated the campaign “Rally for Rivers’’ launched by  Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the founder of Isha Foundation and assured full support of the people of the State in his endevour towards  the conservation of  rivers and water. 
    • The Chief Minister said that though Haryana has no river which exclusively flown from the State, various steps have been taken to ensure that clean water flow into the rivers passing through the State. He said that for the cleanliness of seasonal Ghaggar River which passes through both Haryana and Punjab, STPs alongside the river have been installed jointly by the government of both states. Once these STPs are fully functional, fresh water would start flowing into the river, he added. Similarly, STPs have also been installed for the cleanliness of Yamuna River and also to check the filthy water entering into the river. 
    • He said that increase in population and large scale development has not only led to change in the climate condition but also adversely affected our natural resources. He said that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, through the Namami Gange Programme has made an appeal to the people of the country for the conservation and rejuvenation of River Ganga. He also recalled that former Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee had also started a programme for linking all rivers of the country.
    • While referring to River Saraswati, the Chief Minister said that it is matter of pride for Haryana that Adi Badri in Haryana has been identified as the point of origin of this mythical river. For carrying out an extensive research on the river, Saraswati Nadi Shodh Sansthan has been set up in the State. Besides, Saraswati Heritage Development Board has been constituted for the rejuvenation of the river. He said that persistent efforts are being made by the government to ensure that water flows into the river by channelizing the water through dams.
    • He appreciated the Sadhguru for launching a campaign in the country for the conservation of environment and river waters and assured him of all support and cooperation of the people of the State in this endevour. 
    • Speaking on this occasion, Haryana Governor Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki expressed concern over the depleting water level in the rivers and said that water in some rivers has reduced even by 44 per cent. He appreciated the initiative of the Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev for creating awareness among the people on conservation of rivers and appealed the people to make this campaign a mass movement for the benefit of the country. While referring to Sadhguru, he said that since ancient times saints and gurus have been well known for their good deeds done for the welfare of society. He said that the Central Government has also started various initiatives for the conservation and rejuvenation of rivers. A separate department has been created for the rejuvenation of River Ganga and Namami Gange Project has been started. Apart from this, Jal Sanrakshan Yojna has been implemented for the rejuvenation of other rivers of the country. 
    • Founder of Isha Foundation,  Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev said that the campaign the Rally for Rivers which he started from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu on September 3,  2017 would culminate  in Delhi on October 2 covering a distance of about  9500 kilo meters. He claimed that all the political leaderships irrespective of party ideology responded in one voice in favour of Rally for Rivers campaign.  He urged the people to give a miss call on mobile number 80009-80009 and make the Government feel empowered for framing a long term policy for the preservation of river and waters. 
    • He said that it is a matter of concern that river water has been constantly depleting during the last 25 years. He said that this is a problem which could not be resolved in a month or so therefore, we are working on a policy so that the nations remain sustainable in terms of water conservation. He said that undoubtly development is happening in the country but we also have to think of the sustainability otherwise our development and sustainability both would be threatened. He said that trees and rivers are national treasure which we have to preserve for our coming generation. 
    • Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh Mr V.P. Badnore and  Member of Parliament, Mrs Kirron Kher also spoke on this occasion. 
    • Among those present on this occasion included former Union Minister Mrs Parneet Kaur, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Haryana Mr Rajesh Khullar, senior officers of Haryana and Punjab Government and large number of people.

    • Chandigarh, Sept 29- Haryana Government has set a target to achieve grade level competency for atleast 80 per cent students by the end of December 2018. Apart from this, the government will also provide employment opportunities to more than two lakh youth in the state in coming two years. 
    • This was revealed in a review meeting of ‘Saksham Haryana’, an initiative of Chief Minister, Education Minister and Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, chaired by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today. 
    • It was also decided in the meeting that the private companies who would engage more than five per cent apprentice would be recognized or facilitated by the government. These private companies would be called as ‘Saksham Saathi’ of the government.
    • It was also informed that State government, under Saksham Rozgar Portal, would facilitate all youth in getting employment opportunities in government and private sector as well as for apprenticeship programmes. Besides, assistance would also be provided for self-employment. As many as 11 initiatives have been defined for all sectors, so that more than two lakh youth could get employment in coming two years. 
    • The State government would also assist the youth in placement, carrier counseling, training and job-mapping through technological support. The entire information would be available on ‘Saksham Rozgar Portal’, which will be launched very soon. 
    • It was informed that under Saksham Haryana, the existing system of school education would be streamlined and strengthened. All facilities of the departments concerned would be made online. The best practices of other states have been adopted. The State government would also do something new in the state so that other states can learn. New technology would be brought on pilot basis in School Education Department.
    • The assessment for achievement of 80 per cent grade level competency would be got carried out by third party. The blocks and district, who would achieve the target, would be declared Saksham.
    • It was also informed that all Minister, MLAs and senior officers would soon visit educational institutes to discuss all aspect of Saksham  Haryana. 
    • It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister has set up a ‘Saksham Cell’ in his office. 
    • Chief Secretary, Mr D.S. Dhesi, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr Rakesh Gupta and other senior officers of Higher Education, School Education, Technical Education, Skill Development and Industrial Training, Labour and Employment and Industries were also present in the meeting.

    • Chandigarh September 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has directed the School Education Department to display the photos of teachers of all Government schools in the State along with their names and designation in the office of school heads in order to improve the relation among the teachers, parents and students. 
    • While stating this here today, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Dr K.K Khandelwal said that this decision is  a step forward in the direction of expressing respect and giving recognition to the teachers, and developing better relations between teachers and the students as well as to enhance the sense of belongingness. 
    • He said that all the District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers, Block Education Officers and Block Elementary Education Officers have been directed to ensure the compliance of these orders in all the government schools under their jurisdiction.
