    • Chandigarh, Dec 2 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today said that State government will establish a separate Burn Treatment Unit in Civil Hospital, Sector-6, Panchkula for providing prompt treatment to burn injured patients. He also directed the health authorities to appoint Specialist doctors for the same. 
    • Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the gathering after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of about Rs50 crore projects in Panchkula near here today.  
    • He said that all underpasses to provide alternative pathways for Sector-20 and 21 located along the national highway would be constructed to accommodate the daily traffic volume. 
    • Responding to a demand to include Panchkula in the list of Smart cities, the Chief Minister said that based on a certain parameters of Union government, three towns of Haryana have so far been included in the list of smart cities. He urged the people to meet the norms and parameters fixed for inclusion of town’s name in the next list of smart cities. Describing Panchkula as a modern city, the Chief Minister said that it has become the Sub- Capital of Haryana as most of government departments have shifted here.
    • Taking a dig at the previous government, the Chief Minister said that the number of development works done during last three years is more than that of works done during ten years of Congress tenure. Present government has approved development works of more than Rs1000 crore in Panchkula. He said that he had made around 3,600 announcements, of which about 2700 have been completed or are under process.  He himself reviewed CM announcements every month. He urged the people and other representatives to prepare good suggestions and plans for development work.
    • He said that as a result of efforts made by present state government, the losses of Power utilities has been reduced by 6 per cent which is about Rs10,000 crore. Power was being supplied round-the-clock in 1350 villages of four districts including Panchkula. 
    • He said that a number of online and IT enabled programmes have been launched to curb corruption. He said that no leader of Bhartiya Janta Party is involved in corruption while Congress leaders have been involved in it during their regime. 
    • The Chief Minister said that today the daughters of Haryana are ahead in every field, be it sports, education or employment. Daughters are safe in Haryana. Even in the beauty contest, our daughters have proved their mettle and recently Manushi Chillar has won the Miss World crown. As a result of efforts of government and cooperation of people, the sex ratio in Haryana has reached to 937 which was around 850 girls over 1000 boys earlier, he added. 
    • Our decision to fix the minimum educational qualification of panchayats representatives for contesting elections was also upheld by the Court. Apart from this, we have written a letter to the Central Government that minimum qualification should be fixed for MPs and MLAs to contest elections.  Complete transparency has been maintained in governance, he added. 
    • Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated new mini-secretariat office building with multi-level parking, building of sub-tehsil Barwala, Gramin Swarozgar Prashikshan Sansthan Garhi Kotaha, Raipur Rani set up by Punjab National Bank, first crèche and gym and meditation centre in new mini secretariat and laid the foundation stone of Haryana Roadways workshop in Industrial Area, phase-II, Panchkula. 
    • Speaking on this occasion, Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar said that the department has a proposal to added 125 mini buses in the fleet of State Roadways to facilitate the residents of hilly areas. These buses would also cater the need of city bus service. The department would also add 600 new buses in the fleet of State Roadways which is 4140 at present. He also said that the charge of Panchkula depot would be given to General Manager, Roadways, Chandigarh, in addition.   
    • MLA Mr Gian Chand Gupta thanked the Chief Minister for bringing the Panchkula in the mainstream through various development projects. Highlighting various new projects sanctioned by the government, he also urged the Chief Minister to provide special funds to make Panchkula a smart city. 
    • MLA Latika Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue and Disaster Management, Mrs Keshni Anand Arora and Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Gauri Prashar Joshi also spoke on this occasion. 
    • District BJP President, Mr Deepak Sharma, Chairperson, Zila Parishad, Mrs Ritu Singla, BJP leader Mr Harvinder Malik, officers of district administration and other prominent people were also present on this occasion.

    • Chandigarh, Dec 2 – Soon a logistic hub will be developed in the area crossing river Ghaggar in Panchkula extension. Besides, a survey is being conducted to construct an alternative road from Panchkula to Chandigarh International Airport to lesson traffic and facilitate local residents. 
    • This was stated by Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal while addressing the media persons after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of about Rs 50 crore projects in Panchkula near here today.  
    • The Chief Minister said that in a recent joint meeting of Chief Secretaries of Haryana and Punjab, it was agreed to conduct a technical survey for find out a direct route from Panchkula to Chandigarh Airport.  He said that state government also plans to develop logistic hub in the area crossing Ghaggar River to ensure the financial development of the people and area, which is called gateway of Himachal Pradesh. This will also generate direct and indirect employment opportunities. 
    • Asked to comment on a demand being raised by local MLAs for restoration of old system of local bodies by dissolving Municipal Corporation Panchkula, Chief Minister said that this issue would be discussed in meeting of State Cabinet and we would make a decision only after the consent of Cabinet. 
    • On being asked to comment on the alleged allegations leveled on the issue of land given to Gita Sansthanam on cheaper rates, the Chief Minister said that such people do not have the knowledge about essence of Bhagwad Gita. He said that Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj has been working on research of holy text and developing a Gita Research Centre of global level at Kurukshetra. The previous government had even leased out land to an institution at the rate of rupee one per acre per year. Gita Manishi had taken land at Rs 5 lakh per acre on an annual lease of 99 years. 
    • He said that all the departments have been directed to appoint Chief Vigilance Officers so as to completely prevent the corruption at all levels. 
    • In reply to yet another question, Mr Manohar Lal said that law and order is maintained in the state. FIR registration wing and investigation wing would be different in Police Department. Any laxity would not be tolerated in registration of cases. Instructions to Police Department have already been given for immediate registration of cases, he added.
