    • Chandigarh, August 3—CCTV cameras would be installed in Gurugram city to strengthen the surveillance system, a water boosting station would be set up in Sector 72, and pipelines would be laid for boosting the drinking water supply in Sectors 58 to 115.
    • These and several other decisions were taken at the first meeting of the Executive Committee of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, in Gurugram, today. It fixed water charges at Rs 9 per kilo litre.
    • The Chief Minister said 1,926 CCTV cameras would be installed at 358 places to strengthen the surveillance system in Gurugram city. For this, work on laying fibre network has been initiated and all these cameras would be integrated with command control centre.
    • Through the medium of fibre network, all kinds of smart services would be provided in the city and Gurugram would be the first city in the country to have laid such fibre network.
    • The feed of fibre network would be sent to all government departments, police stations, schools and institutions. It would also provide internet and WiFi facility. Not only this, about 60,000 CCTV cameras already installed at shopping malls and other private institutions would be linked with this network and its control would be with GMDA. This will also help in traffic management.
    • On this project, about Rs 65 crore would be spent out of which Rs 25 crore would be spent by the Haryana Police Department. The first phase of this project would be completed in nine months, under which, 600-km roads of Gurugram Manesar Urban Complex Development Plan would be covered.
    • The video feed captured from cameras would be stored for seven days locally at the installed cameras and for 30 days at integrated command and control centre. For laying fiber network, GMDA has divided the area under Gurugram Manesar Urban Complex Development Plan into six parts. Under the project, e-challans would be automatically issued for those who violate the traffic rules and this would also prevent crime.
    • About Rs 67 crore would be spent on water boosting station to be installed at Sector 72 in Gurugram. The Chief Minister said boosting station with 24,000 kilo liter capacity would be set up on six-acre area to supply drinking water from sector 58 to 80.
    • The Chief Minister also approved laying of the drinking water supply pipelines in sectors 58 to sector 115. Under this scheme, the present drinking water supply would be re-designed. According to estimates, the demand of water for Sector 58 to 115 would be 173.80 MGD and about Rs 227 crore would be spent on it.
    • The Chief Minister asked the officials to emphasize on reducing exploitation of the ground water. “We do not want to earn profit from water but such measures should be taken so as to reduce the ground water extraction”, he said.
    • The rates of water and sewerage were discussed in detail at the meeting. GMDA proposed that rates in Gurugram be kept low as compared to other major cities of the country. GMDA proposed water supply fee of Rs. 9 per kilo litre which was approved by the Chief Minister. He told them to encourage the use of treated water for irrigating the parks and for stadiums etc. The GMDA will start billing of water and sewerage from October 1, 2018.
    • Apart from this, the upgradation project of HUDA City Centre junction was discussed in detail at the meeting. The project would be completed in a phased manner. Efforts will be made so that the people should not face inconvenience at this junction.
    • Approval has also been given to the proposal of changing the name of Leisure Valley Park, Sector-29 Gurugram, to Maharana Pratap Swarna Jayanti Park. Besides, development of Multi Modal Transit Centrer (MMTC) in Kherki Daula by Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Ltd for smooth movement of vehicles was discussed in detail and the Chief Minister instructed the officers to place the proposal again after making a thorough study.
    • The Public Works (B&R) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, MLA Gurugram, Mr Umesh Agrawal, MLA Sohna, Tejpal Tanwar, Mayor, Madhu Azad, Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning, Mr Apoorva Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Mr Anand Mohan Sharan, and other officers were also present at the meeting.

    • Chandigarh, August 3 – Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu directed the police officers to personally monitor the complaints pertaining to crime against women and ensure that such kind of complainants should be promptly registered in police stations in the state. 
    • Mr Sandhu was reviewing the progress of Chief Minister’s announcements made during ‘Ek Aur Sudhar Programme’ through a video conference with all Range IGs, Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police at Police Headquarters today. 
    • It may be mentioned here that as per Chief Minister’s announcements made on July 12, people convicted in rape cases in Haryana will now be debarred from government facilities such as arm and driving licenses, old age pension, pension for the physically disabled persons.
    • Giving a clear message to all the officers, he said that safety and security of every citizen is paramount, especially of women and children. Senior officers should be more proactive to deal with such cases and they should initiate immediate action on complaints of sexual offences. He cautioned that services of those police officers would also be placed under suspension who would not register complaint concerning rape and molestation in their respective police stations. All the Women Police Stations are directly working under the supervision of SP/DCP concnered. They should personally verify such cases and ensure that women or girl should not face any troble in registration of case. 
    • While reviewing the Chief Minister’s announcements concerning suspension of arm licence, Mr Sandhu directed them to verify arms as well as drivinig licenses of those accused on priorioty basis who have been convicted by the Court in rape, molestation charges and under Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.  In case the accused is convicted, he would not be eligible for these facilities anymore. He also directed to speed the process of verification to get the arms licences cancelled of such persons in the state. 
    • Reviewing the time frame fixed for investigation in rape and molestation cases, he said that as per Chief Minister’s announcement, the investigation officer would have to complete the investigation into a rape case in one month, and in eve-teasing within 15 days, otherwise action would be taken against him. He also directed them to monitor the progress of such cases on weekly basis in this. The progress would be reviewed again in the first week of September, he added.
    • Earlier, Director General HQ, Mr K.K. Mishra briefed the officers about the Chief Minister’s announcements pertaining to police department. He also directed them to closely monitor the investigation and trial of heinous cases of crime against women and put the best resources available with them to prevent and detect such offences.

    • Chandigarh, August 3 – Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu directed the Police Officers to maximumly popularize android based ‘Durga Shakti App’ of Haryana Police, recently launched by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal with the objective to provide immediate police help to women in case of any emergent situation. 
    • Mr Sandhu, who was holding a video conference with all Range IGs, Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police at Police headquarters today, said that mobile app was launched with the sole objective to provide a safety tool in the easiest manner to the women and girls.
    • Describing the safety and security of women and girls as one of the top priority of the state government, he said that all the officers should carry out a special campaign in Universities and other educational institutes to make the App more popular. Our desired objective to launch the App would only be achieved when every women and girl should have this App in their android mobile phone. 
    • He also announced a reward of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 to first three best performing districts who would make it more popular among the stakeholders. He also asked the ADGP Operations, Mr A.S. Chawla to ensure wide publicity of the App through advertisements. The number of download should reach to lakhs by August 15, he added. 
    • Mr Sandhu also directed them to review the security arrangements of court complexes in their respective place of postings and submit a report within 10 days to the Police headquarters. The hearings of gangsters and hardcore criminals in the Court should be carried out through video-conferencing as almost jails have this facility. He also reviewed the security and traffic arrangements concerning ongoing kanwar yatra. 
    • Addressing the officers, Director General HQ, Mr K.K. Mishra apprised them about the Women Helpline Number 1091, which has become popular to instill confidence and a sense of security amongst women in the state.

    • Chandigarh, August 3---The Haryana Government is taking stringent action to put a complete ban on the sale of illegal drugs, and coming down heavily on the people indulging in the nefarious practice of illegal sex diagnosis in the state.
    • Stating this here today, the Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Rakesh Gupta, gave instructions to all district officers through video-conferencing to keep an eye on the shops selling illegal drugs, and take strict action against those found guilty.
    • He also reviewed the working of schemes like Stray Cattle Free Haryana, Jagriti, CM Window, Harpath, SMGT, Antodaya and SARAL Kendras, Saksham Haryana, Apprenticeship, Modernization of Library etc. at the district level. He appreciated district officers who did their best, and warned those who were found careless.
    • Dr. Gupta praised Yamuna Nagar district for doing good work under the PNDT Act. He expressed his displeasure over not taking on remand the accused caught along with 80 kits used for sex diagnosis in the Kurukshetra district. The accused should again be nabbed and quizzed to get to the root cause of the case.
    • Dr. Gupta directed district officials to be more active in the cases pertaining to the PNDT Act and nab such groups, especially in the districts of Rewari, Nuh, Panipat, Mahendergarh and Jhajjar. He told them to take assistance from Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and other youth clubs to strengthen the information system in such cases.
    • Strict action would be taken against those who sell intoxicants like doda, charas, ganja, churapost, afeem and safed–chitta, in the state. For this, Special Task Force has been formed in Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hisar districts.
    • He said there were clear directions from the Chief Minister to strongly deal with those selling illegal drugs and spoiling the lives of youths. With a view to rehabilitating the drug addicts, the proposal to open drug de-addiction centre at Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres and other places, is being considered.
    • Dr Gupta directed the officers of Panchkula and Panipat districts to improve their ranking in redressing public grievances received at CM Window. He also ordered suspension of the investigation officer and sub-inspector, Phoolkanwar, for not taking right action in the case of fraud against former sarpanch of village Murthal in Sonipat, along with her husband.
    • While reviewing the complaints received through Social Media Grievances Tracker, Dr Gupta reprimaned the officers concerned of Faridabad and Gurugram Municipal Corporations for not taking right action on related complaints, and directed them to redress them within 24 hours.
    • In the case of wheat wasted in rain in Pillukhera village of  Jind district which got viral on social media, he directed that a  chargesheet be filed against Hafed DM, Karan Singh Lohan, under rule-7 for not taking appropriate action in the matter and issued directions to the deputy commissioner to investigate the matter.
    • Dr Gupta said target had been fixed to make all roads in the state pothole-free by December, 2018. He directed all deputy commissioners to regularly review the complaints recived on HARPATH App.
    • As directed by the Chief Minister, 77 SARAL Kendras  will be operational by August 15, and 17 Antyodaya centres by October. Dr. Gupta expressed displeasure over not using the token system at Saral Kendras in the Bhiwani, Faridabad, Bahadurgarh and Beri and directed the officials to use the token system.
    • Under the Modernization of Library Scheme in the districts, Dr. Gupta gave instructions to the higher education department to formulate guidelines quickly and set up committees in this regard.
    • While reviewing Saksham Haryana, he told the District Education Officers that results of the evaluation of Saksham youths of 23 blocks would be declared on August 12, and the best performing District Education Officers would be honored at the district level on Independence Day. After Saksham Haryana, a Saksham plus program will be started, he added.
    • Dr Gupta told the officers to take appropriate steps in the cases pertaining to Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and also make efforts to free the state from stray cattle.
    • While reviewing the work being done under the Jagriti Yojna in Rohtak and Jhajjar districts, he said the Chief Minister wanted that in the next two months these districts should emerge as model districts.

    • Chandigarh, August 3 : The two officials of Transport Department, Haryana have been dismissed from the job after their educational certificates  were   found to be  fake.
    • The Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Rakesh Gupta and OSD to CM, Mr Bhupeshwar Dayal directed the dismissal of these employees on behalf of the Chief Minister Haryana during the review meeting of complaints on CM Window.
    • According to the complaint received from Arun Kumar of Karnal on the CM window,   Vijay Pal, Mechanic and Pradeep Kumar working as black smith  in  Karnal Depot of Haryana Roadways Department. The complainant  Arun Kumar alleged that the matriculation marks sheet of both these employees are fake. After this, the instructions have been given by the Chief Minister to check the 10th class  certificates of these two employees. In the investigations, their certificates were found to be fake. The Chief Minister directed to  dismiss both these employees from the job.
    • In addition while reviewing the complaints related to various departments the Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Rakesh Gupta and OSD to CM,  Mr Bhupeshwar Dayal, instructed the officers to resolve the complaints  as early as possible.

    • Chandigarh, August 3- In order to give impetus to the footwear industry of the state, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that the state government would provide sufficient facilities to the manufacturers of footwear industry machinery in the Footwear Park being developed at Kharkhoda.
    • The Chief Minister disclosed this, after inaugurating Footwear Pavilion of Haryana in India International Footwear Fair (IIFF-2018) organised by Confederation of Indian Footwear Industries (CIFI) in New Delhi today.
    • He said that to make the footwear industry self-sufficient, adequate facilities would be provided to the manufacturers for the installation of units of footwear industry machinery in this footwear park, at Kharkhoda. A large footwear industry center in the country is already established in Bahadurgarh in Haryana.
    • He said that Haryana ranks 5th in the country in terms of exports and In terms of Ease of Doing Business, Haryana has positioned itself to third rank in the country and first in North India.
    • It is worth mentioning that overall 300 units participating in India International Footwear Fair, about 80 participating units are from Haryana.
