Chandigarh, October 9 - Various farmers’ representatives of Sonipat district under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh gave a memorandum to Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi regarding the reopening of blocked National Highways on the Singhu border in Haryana due to ongoing farmers protest.

Sh. Manohar Lal also assured them that constant efforts are being made in this regard, talks are going on and he hopes that the blocked National Highways in the state would be opened soon.

Delegation of 25 farmers, headed by Patron, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Haryana, Tahar Singh Chauhan, had reached Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi to meet the Chief Minister today, demanding reopening of blocked roads at Singhu border.

Delegation included State Vice President, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Savita Mor, Sarpanch Jakholi, Gaurav, Sarpanch Khurampur, Naresh, District President, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Mukesh Dahiya, District General Secretary, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Sanjeev Antil, Tikaram Chauhan, Kuldeep Chauhan, Deepak Aterana, etc.

After this, while interacting with the media, the Chief Minister said that talks are going on the above subject and on October 20, Haryana Government will file its reply in the Supreme Court. Now the Supreme Court has made the farmers also a party, they will also file their reply in the Supreme Court.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that in case of blockade of the National Highway, directions have been given to repair the alternative roads within a month which have been damaged due to heavy pressure of vehicles on them.
