  • Chandigarh June 11: With an aim to develop an ideal institute for teachers’ education in the state, Haryana Government has now decided to set up more ‘Prarambh State Institute of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education (SIASTE), in other districts of the State too.
  • A decision to this effect was taken in the second meeting of Governing Body of Prarambh held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal here today. Education Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal was also present in the meeting.
  • The Chief Minister said that the State Institute of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education (SIASTE), Jhajjar will continue to function in its current location while another two or three centres would be set up in different districts of the state.
  • The Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to visit the existing campus of (SIASTE) and explore the possibility of expansion so that more students can be admitted to the Institute and take advantage of quality Teachers’ training.
  • Director, SIASTE, Mr. Rishi Goel appraised the Chief Minister about the arrangements and progress made by the Institute and also put forward the requirements. He said that there are currently 307 students from 18 States studying in four batches in integrated courses of BA-BEd and BSc-BEd.
  • In the meeting, Haryana Chief Secretary, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Mr. T.V.S.N Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Mr. Mahavir Singh and Director Secondary Education, Mr. J. Ganesan were also preset.
