  • Chandigarh, July 25- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal while boosting sports facilities for sportspersons in the State, on Saturday approved an amount of Rs 1.35 crore for the construction of a boxing hall. Besides this, he also announced that six badminton courts will be constructed in the complex premises.
  • The Chief Minister made this announcement after inaugurating a Facilitation Centre at Karan Stadium, in Karnal district built at a cost of Rs. 3.25 crore. Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Sandeep Singh was also present in the programme.
  • On this occasion, Mr. Manohar Lal also honoured 22 students of Karnal district who had excelled in Board of School Education Haryana’s class XII Examination by giving them appreciation certificates. The programme was organized by the Education, Department.
  • In the context of other demands raised related to Sports Complex in Karnal, Chief Minister said that today he will be digitally interacting with Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr. Kiren Rijiju regarding sports facilities and it is expected that Haryana may get the desired sports facilities for the State, which would certainly help in fulfilling all these demands.
  • On the demand raised for large sports stadium of International Level to be constructed for sports like cricket in Karnal district, he said that it is a matter of consideration at the moment. Referring to the cash incentive being given for playing traditional sports in the country, he called upon the players to join the traditional sports.
  • The Chief Minister said that emphasis is being laid on making Haryana a Sports Hub, under which National Level Sports infrastructure, training and coaching facilities will be provided in every corner of the State.
  • He said that the Sports Policy implemented in the State is the best in the country under which players have many facilities like cash rewards and reservation in jobs. He said that in all the Asian Games or Commonwealth or even in International Sports Competitions, players of Haryana have always excelled by winning the maximum number of medals for the country and have brought laurels to the State.
  • He said that if the players continue to practice with more hardwork and dedication then their performance at National and International Level will certainly become better. He assured that the State Government will provide all possible help to the sportsmen to ensure the same.
  • The sports facilitation centre at Karan Stadium has been constructed in about 20895 sq.ft area. On its ground floor, a VIP lounge, Junior Facilitation Officer(JFO) Room, Gym, Player Nutrition Centre, Locker / Changing Room for players, Practice Hall and toilet facilities for boys, girls and persons with disabilities have been provided.
  • Similarly, Sport Knowledge Centre, rooms for JFO and staff, changing rooms and toilets are available on the first floor. On the second floor, caretaker room, changing room for girls and boys, toilets for boys, girls and persons with disabilities have been made.
     
  • Chandigarh, July, 25: Haryana Chief Minister. Mr. Manohar Lal today gifted several developmental projects worth Rs. 42 crore to the residents of Karnal district. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of three developmental works worth Rs. 28.30 crore. Besides this, he also inaugurated seven developmental works costing Rs. 13.47 crore.
  • The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of construction of new road from Karnal-Munak Road to Bhusli Road. The road will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 81.19 lakh. Besides this, the foundation stone of a railway underpass that will be constructed on the Uchana to Rukanpur Road was also laid by the Chief Minister. The underpass will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 25 crore.
  • Similarly, a sports stadium will be constructed on 6 acres of land at a cost of more than Rs 2.49 crore in Hathlana village in Nissing block. The construction work has started and is likely to be completed within one year. The stadium will have a 200-meter six-lane track, volleyball court, kabaddi ground, basketball game facilities, multipurpose hall and toilets.
  • Similarly, the other projects inaugurated by Chief Minister include a new road that will be constructed from Karnal-Indri road to Karan Lake-Uchana at a cost of Rs 60.62 lakh. Recarpeting work of road from Anaj Mandi Nissing to Singhra village at a cost of over Rs 1.60 crore. Besides this, he also inaugurated a new road that will be constructed from Aungad village to Kaithal constructed at a cost of over Rs. 1.9 crore.
  • Besides this, Mr. Manohar Lal inaugurated the work of widening and strengthening of road from Alawala to Dachar at a cost of Rs. 3.87 crore, widening and strengthening work of the road from Dachar to Achhanpur to be done at a cost of Rs. 1.79 crore.
  • Likewise the Chief Minister also inaugurated the widening and strengthening work of the road from Achhanpur to Rukasana to be done at a cost of over Rs. 1.15 crore. Lastly, a Facilitation Centre at Karan Stadium, in Karnal district which has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.25 crore was also inaugurated by Mr. Manohar Lal.
     
  • Chandigarh, July 25 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the police personnel should serve the people of the state with supreme dedication as the police is a mirror of the state government. Police service is more of a social service and not limited to just earning a livelihood, he added.
  • The Chief Minister was addressing the Police Personnel after reviewing the parade at the convocation ceremony of 400 women and men sub-inspectors of the 16th Batch of Police at Vachher Stadium in Haryana Armed Police, Madhuban, Karnal today. He congratulated the newly appointed sub-inspectors on completion of their training and said that now they will be taking the first step towards their duty.
  • The Chief Minister, while speaking about the oath taken by the police personnel, he said that they should remember each and every word spoken during oath-taking ceremony and perform their duty with honesty and fairness. He said that it was a matter of pride that the youth opted to join the police service to pursue a career. He said that the nature of work of the police department and others vary significantly as other employees function according to the calendar but the police have no calendar to follow.
  • Speaking on the rise in the ratio of women police personnel the Chief Minister said that earlier the number of women in the police force was merely three percent, which gradually increased to six percent in the last five years and subsequently it rose to 10 percent and the government further aims to increase it to 15 percent. He said that in the convocation today around 56 women police sub-inspectors are passing out, which represents about 14 percent of the total number of police personnel passing out.
  • He said that the state government is persistent to ensure that the youth get jobs on the basis of merit. On these lines, the government has given government jobs to more than 70,000 youth as per merit in the last six years. The government has followed Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP) to ensure recruitment in the police in a transparent manner as well. As a result of this, youth and girls with good education from all sections of the society and all regions are being recruited in the Police. Sportspersons of national and international-level have been recruited in Haryana Police.
  • The Chief Minister said that to strengthen the police services in the state, it has been decided to set up a Modern Police Station in every district in the state. In addition, approval has been given to construct five Police Range Headquarters in the State and six new Cyber Crime Police Stations at Commissionerate, Faridabad. He said that the Trakea Bar Coding system of Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) has also started in the Police Complex in Madhuban. He said that in order to meet the challenges related to cyber crimes, the country's first training centre, Digital Investigation Training and Analysis Centre (DITAC), has been established in Gurugram. The police personnel are trained in social media, internet and cyber crime research as well.
  • He said that the state government has kept a watchful eye to deal with drug traffickers in the state. For this, Interstate Common Drug Secretariat has been established in Crime Branch, Panchkula. The agencies that ensure law and order are being strengthened and modernized. In addition, concrete steps have also been taken towards ensuring security of women. For this, around 31 new women police stations have been opened in the state, whereas earlier there were merely two such police stations. Similarly, Durga Shakti Vahini and Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force have been formed to promote the safety of women in the state. Apart from this, the Durga Shakti App was also launched under ‘Ek Aur Sudhar Programme’. The Chief Minister said that I am proud that today the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban is capable of fulfilling the requirements of police training not only within the state but also at the national-level. As an institution this academy has not only fulfilled the purpose of its establishment but has performed beyond expectations.
  • On this occasion, Director General of Police, Mr. Manoj Yadava welcomed the Chief Minister on behalf of the entire police family. He said that the police complex was established in Madhuban in the year 1975 and regular training programmes started here from the year 1976. It got HAP status in the year 2002. Now, it is one of the best police academies in the country. He added that the academy doesn’t only train the police personnel of the state but also of states like Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Goa, Delhi, Bihar and CBI, besides police personnel from Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. So far, 2.50 lakh police personnel have been imparted training in the last 44 years.
  • He informed that 50 postgraduates, 198 graduates and 152 business degree holders were among the police personnel who participated in today's convocation. He hoped that with the introduction of well-educated youth in the police, it will bring modern and professional skills with enhanced spirit for public service.
  • At the end of the programme, Director of Police Academy, Mr. Yogindra Singh Nehra thanked the Chief Minister and other distinguished guests who were present in the programme.
     
  • Chandigarh, July 25 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, while remembering the Kargil martyrs on the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas said that the sacrifices made by soldiers of the Indian Army during this war will always inspire the youth towards patriotism.
  • In a statement issued on the eve of Kargil Vijay Divas, the Chief Minister paid tributes to the Kargil martyrs and said that 21 years ago on July 26, 1999, Indian soldiers defeated the Pakistani infiltrators and hoisted the Indian flag at Kargil. In this war, 527 Indian soldiers were martyred and more than 1,300 were injured.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said that Haryana is a land of patriots and even before the Kargil War, during the wars of 1962, 1965 and 1971 our soldiers had fought the enemy with valour and courage. The Chief Minister said that we are proud that 69 soldiers, belonging to Haryana, were martyred in the Kargil War. The sacrifice, courage and dedication of our soldiers can never be forgotten and the country will forever remain indebted to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
     
  • Chandigarh, July 25: While appreciating the potential and contribution of Haryana in the field of sports, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr. Kiren Rijiju announced that Panchkula will host the 4th edition of 'Khelo India Youth Games-2021'.
  • Mr. Kiren Rijiju made this announcement during an interaction with Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal held digitally here today. Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Sandeep Singh and other Senior Officers of the Sports Ministry were also present.
  • The Union Minister said that due to COVID-19 crisis, 'Khelo India Youth Games-2020' will not be organized this year. Therefore the next edition of this tournament will be organized in Panchkula. The Union Minister further clarified that the tournament will be organized after the completion of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
  • Lauding the efforts of the State Government led by Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, the Union Minister said, “I feel proud that the next edition of 'Khelo India Youth Games-2021' will be organized in Panchkula. Haryana has emerged as a leading sports hub in the country as it has always remained a force to reckon with as far as sports and sportspersons are concerned. Under the proficient leadership of Mr. Manohar Lal, the State has always proved its mettle at both National and International level.”
  • He said that making a renowned player like Mr. Sandeep Singh as the Sports Minister of the State certainly shows the Chief Minister’s commitment towards promoting Sports in the State at all levels and further encouraging youth to excel in sports. “I am sure that this edition of 'Khelo India Youth Games-2021' will be a huge success in Haryana,” he said.
  • Thanking the Union Minister for choosing Haryana to host the 4th edition of Khelo India Youth Games next year, the Chief Minister said, “Sports Policy implemented in the State is the best in the country. The athletes are given cash rewards when they win medals and we also give them reservation in jobs. This gives athletes the confidence to perform.”
  • He shared that it is a matter of great pride that in the ‘Khelo India Youth Games-2018’, Haryana achieved first position, while in the last edition held in Guwahati, the State had bagged second spot with 200 medals to its name.
  • “Our athletes don't play only for medals but for the pride of the State and the Country,” the Chief Minister said.
  • The Chief Minister assured Mr. Kiren Rijiju that Panchkula is apt for hosting the ‘Khelo India Youth Games-2021’ and Haryana will leave no stones unturned to ensure proper arrangements for organizing various sports events. “Adequate lodging and other facilities will also be provided to the players coming to participate from across the country," he stated.
  • Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Sandeep Singh said that Haryana has won maximum number of medals for the country and now that the State will be hosting such a big tournament like Khelo India Games, it will certainly encourage many athletes to showcase their talent.
  • "Haryana has always produced a lot of medal-winning sportsmen and in the previous Olympics; one of the two medallists was a wrestler from Haryana," Singh stated.
