  • Chandigarh, June 29 Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, along with Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan today digitally laid the foundation stone of Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOC) state-of-the-art second Research and Development (R&D) Centre in Faridabad, Haryana. The new Centre, covering an area of about 60 acres, would be constructed at a cost of around Rs. 2282 crore.
  • In his inaugural address, Haryana Chief Minister expressed his gratitude towards the Union Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and IOC for selecting Haryana for setting up Indian Oil’s new research unit. He said that Haryana has always remained a front-runner in the country’s development. The State has performed exceptionally well not only in agriculture sector, but is also developing as a Sports hub and has marked its identity as a major player in the industrial sector, especially automobiles.
  • He said that the State has become a preferred investment destination for the entrepreneurs as setting up a new industry had also become easier in Haryana. Haryana has made tremendous progress in the ranking of Ease of Doing Business in the country. He said that at present Haryana is at the third position in the country in terms of Ease of Doing Business and first among all northern states. The State is moving ahead in the Energy and Agro-industry sectors, he added.
  • He said, “We have played a pro-active role in making Haryana a Kerosene-free State and dedicated efforts were made to make the State Kerosene-free. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, every household in the State is being provided LPG connections.”
  • Chief Minister also highlighted the efforts made by the State Government to prevent the spread of Corona Pandemic. He said that while empathizing the need of every individual, constant efforts were made by the State Government to provide relief to every needy person during the Pandemic.
  • Divulging the details about upcoming projects of waste-to-energy going on in Haryana, he said that Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) would be setting up an Ethanol Plant at Bohali in district Panipat.
  • Meanwhile, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan said that this second state-of-the-art R&D centre will certainly emerge as a laboratory for an alternative, clean, and indigenous energy solutions. He said that setting up of this Centre is a big step towards realizing the vision of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi in making India self-reliant in all the sectors, especially the energy sector.
  • While praising Haryana for the steps taken by it to take the State swiftly on the energy sector track, Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Haryana under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, has shown tremendous improvement in socio-economic and development parameters. It is also the first kerosene-free state and I am sure that now Haryana will become a leading R&D hub in the country. Haryana can also play a leading role in converting the Agro-residues into clean energy."
  • The Minister also expressed his gratitude towards Haryana government for supporting the activities of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the State. He urged country's largest fuel retailer, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), to provide further impetus to waste-to-energy programs in Haryana and work towards making the State a global model in alternative energy solutions.
  • Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr. Tarun Kappor, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation and other senior officers also attended the foundation ceremony through video conference.
     
  • Chandigarh, June 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has urged the teachers to come to the forefront and make valuable contributions in preparing the students as nation-builders of the future. While highlighting the importance of the role of teachers in self-reliant India, the Chief Minister, said that the education should not remain confined to only basic school education i.e reading, writing, and arithmetic, rather every teacher should focus on the overall development of their students.
  • The Chief Minister was speaking at the webinar organized by Haryana Higher Education Council, held here today. Mr. Mukul Kanitkar, Organizing Secretary, Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, Vice-Chancellors, Principals and teachers also shared their views on this occasion.
  • While highlighting the importance of the role of teachers in self-reliant India, the Chief Minister said,” I am sure that in the discussion held today we will get many ideas that help the students to become more cultured and self-reliant.”
  • He said that the role of the teacher is very important in recognizing the hidden skills and talents of any student and grooming them to become the nation builders of the future. Teachers should inspire them to do well and succeed in life. The role of any Government is to build Universities, Colleges, and Schools. It can make policies to bring reforms in the education sector but the role of teachers in nation-building, shaping the future of their students and enlightening society is paramount, he said.
  • He said that in the vision of Atamnirbhar Bharat as given by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, Education remains one of the focal areas. Only teachers can play a pivotal role in showing the right direction to the youth and by imbibing the value of culture and spirit of dedication in them, the State can move forward on the path of progress and becoming self-reliant, he added.
  • While giving the example of veteran cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s teacher who played a pivotal role in grooming his talent, the Chief Minister said that teachers could inspire youth to pursue their passion in life and excel in their chosen field.
  • Interestingly, he also shared his own school life experience. He said that his teacher, while identifying his ability, too inspired him to pursue his passion. He also recited a poem highlighting the importance of education.
  • He said that education is a very important part of a society, which not only makes any individual Atamnirbhar, but also ensures that the State and Country become self-reliant.
     
  • Chandigarh June 29- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that we should spin challenges into opportunities and with this thinking we have persistently worked on building a transparent system for overall development of the state, under which Chief Minister Good Governance Associates (CMGGAs) Programme came into being. The programme was started to ensure that new initiatives of government reach the people of the state at the earliest.
  • This information was given by the Chief Minister here late in the evening during the felicitation ceremony of "Chief Minister Good Governance Associates Programme", 2019-2020. On this occasion, the Project Director of the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates Programme, Dr. Rakesh Gupta was also present.
  • The Chief Minister said that the programme was started four years back and has been immensely successful. He said that although the year - 2020 has not been a positive one and the year has been besieged by one problem or the other. He added that the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi had also mentioned in 'Mann Ki Baat' programme recently that there are difficulties and challenges, but we have to transform these challenges and difficulties into opportunities. Listing the difficulties this year, he said that despite problems such as Corona pandemic, earthquake, Indo-China face-off, locust threat for crops and cyclones etc. we still have to keep moving forward.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said that the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates Programme has been a successful proposal and we have to run it successfully for a long time. He said that so far about 40 such initiatives have been started in which Chief Minister Good Governance Associates have played a pivotal role. The Chief Minister said that we should keep working towards improving the system. He said that due to consistent efforts of the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates Programme, the digital system could be implemented at various places, including Saral Portal Scheme, Village Secretariat, One Stop Center, Saksham Yojana etc.
  • Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, he said that as he believes in transforming challenges into opportunities, thus during the pandemic, he started various schemes and policies to help and support the people. He also spoke about Meri Fasal, Mera Byora, DBT scheme and Parivar Pehchan Patra during the programme.
  • Giving more information about the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), he said that Haryana is the first state where such a scheme has been implemented and is constantly working on it. He informed that under this Scheme till now the data of 50 lakh families of the state has been collected. Apart from this, various committees have been formed at the booth-level so that the benefit of the schemes can be extended to e grassroots level.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal interacted with all the Associates of the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates Programme, 2019-2020 Batch and also wished for their future. During the interaction, Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates while apprising the Chief Minister about their future plans said that some of them will be preparing for the UPSC so that they can serve the nation as civil servants. Likewise, a few of them want to work in the area of Higher Education and some wanted to work in the area of public policy. On this occasion, he suggested Good Governance Associates to be concerned about the welfare of society, country and humanity. He said that you have to think not only for yourself but also for society and humanity.
  • Project Director of Chief Minister Good Governance Associates Programme, Dr. Rakesh Gupta said that the first batch started working within two weeks of the formulation of the Programme and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal for this. Giving information about the batch of Chief Minister Good Governance Associates, 2019-2020, he said that this is the fourth batch in which 24 Good Governance Associates have come from 20 states across the country.
  • He said that the Saksham Haryana Scheme has been appreciated at the national level in which Chief Minister Good Governance Associates have played an important role. Similarly, the Antyodaya Saral Portal has also been appreciated and today the One-Stop Centres are fully operational in 22 districts of the state. He said that work on e-office Scheme has already started and by the end of this year the e-office will be functional in all departments and offices. He informed that Good Governance Associates have also played an important role in COVID management.
  • Earlier, Mr. Chirag Bhandari from the programme team of Chief Minister Good Governance Associates Programme also gave a presentation in which information about Saksham, Saral, One Stop Centre, Solid Waste Management, Education etc. was given. Project Manager, Ms. Itika Gupta thanked the Programme team.
  • In this ceremony, the Chief Minister also honoured Good Governance Associates by giving their certificates and mementoes to the programme team members.
     
  • Chandigarh June 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today exhorted the students of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak to innovate in the face of uncertainty just as the Haryana Government has used the period of Corona crisis to introduce 42 new initiatives and thereby playing a vital role in building a strong society and nation while realizing Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmnirbhar Bharat’.
  • Mr Manohar Lal was interacting with the students of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak on the inaugural session of Post Graduate Programme 2020-22 through digital medium here today.
  • While describing the students as the future of India, Mr Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi has emphasized the need of contribution by the youth of the country in building ‘Atmnirbhar Bharat’. Mr Modi has given five pillars namely Infrastructure, System driven by technology, Economy, vibrant Demography and Demand and sought people’s cooperation for achieving this vision. On this occasion, Mr Manohar Lal also urged the faculty of IIM to prepare an effective system to utilize the talent of youth to assist the government in taking the country to new heights of progress and prosperity.
  • Mr Manohar Lal said that it is a matter of pride that IIM, Rohtak is among the top institutes of the country for the last 10 years. In terms of research, it currently ranks 5th in the country. He said that today he is addressing 267 students who have got admission to this prestigious institution by competing with about 1.60 lakh students from different parts of the country. He also congratulated the institution on the percentage of girl students who have been enrolled during the current academic session. In the year 2010, the number of girl students in the institute was only 9 per cent whereas; in the present batch the number of girl’s students has increased to 69 per cent. This increase in the strength of girl students is also a testimony of the fact that the Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao programme has started yielding positive results.
  • He said that though IIM has a record of hundred per-cent placement of its students yet the approach of the students should not be just limited to get employment. Instead they should take welfare of society as their mission rather than focusing on individual accomplishments. He also appreciated the students of IIM, Rohtak for giving suggestions to prepare policies for the Haryana Government departments and said that it would certainly help in further improving their functioning. He also congratulated Director, IIM Mr Dheeraj Sharma for including Gita in the Curriculum of the Institute.
  • Mr Manohar Lal said that the State Government has taken the COVID-19 challenge as an opportunity and taken 42 new initiatives in the last three months through digital technology. He said that recognizing that mere 3R education is not enough; the present State Government has given emphasis on the skill development of students. A dedicated Shri Vishwakarma Skill University has been established. Apart from this, Skill Development Mission has been set up on the lines of National Skill Development Mission through which 80,000 people have been provided employment after providing skill training to them. He said that an apprentice programme has also been started in the State under which 68,000 youth have been provided on-job training in different departments and most of them have got employment at their place of training.
  • He said that the new scheme namely ‘Saksham Yuva’ has been implemented to provide work to educated unemployed youth. Under this scheme monthly financial assistance of Rs 9000 for Post Graduates and Rs 7500 for Graduates is being provided in lieu of 100 hours work. He said that more than one lakh students have so far got benefit to the tune of Rs 850 crore under the scheme. The aim of the State Government is to ensure that no youth in the State remains unemployed, he added.
  • While addressing the students on this occasion, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar said that in this uncertain time of COVID-19, students would be happy to get admission in this prestigious institution. He said that notwithstanding the Corona crisis, the State Government under the able and dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has taken various welfare measures through digital governance to cater to the needs of all sections of the society. Describing Mr Manohar Lal as a role model for the students, Mr Khullar said that they could not find such a better and dynamic person to motivate and guide them on this occasion.
  • Director, IIM, Rohtak, Mr Dheeraj Sharma said that among the 14 IIMs after 2009, IIM Rohtak is leading the way in the country. He said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal, the institute has created an enabling environment for the students. He said that it is a matter of pride that at present students from 24 States of the country are getting education in this institute. He said that with a view to ensure more interaction with the students amid COVID-19, 25 per cent additional time has been provided exclusively for discussions.
