  • There are currently 87 municipalities under the department, including 10 municipal corporations, 19 municipal councils and 58 municipal committees in the state.
  • An amount of Rs 288.92 crore was released as a grant to all the municipalities for the expenditure on the work being done to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Necessary services such as sanitation, water supply, sewerage, street light and firefighting services are being provided to the people by continuously working on the principle of social distancing.
  • Chemical is being sprayed regularly to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at bus stands, railway stations, government offices and other public places.
  • Control rooms have been set up in all 87 municipalities and helpline numbers have been issued to the general public through which it is being ensured that the public is being provided civic amenities.
  • The due date for submission of water / sewerage bills, property tax and rent /tehbazari / license fees of the shops in all the municipalities was extended.
  • The salaries of the municipality employees including regular, contractual and those employed through contractors of the have been ensured to be deposited in their bank accounts on time.
  • Under the National Urban Livelihood Mission, 4257 self-help groups of 10 to 20 urban poor women have been formed in 80 cities.
  • Jhajjar upgraded from status of Municipal Committee to Municipal Council.
  • Property owners in Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Municipalities were given a 10 percent one-time exemption in property tax, for those who will pay all their due taxes / dues for the year 2019-20 by January 31, 2020.
  • Property owners of Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Municipalities were given a one-time exemption of interest tax interest from the years 2010-11 to 2018-19, for those who will pay their property tax dues / dues by January 31, 2020.
  • An amount of Rs. 288.92 crores was released as a grant to all the municipalities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • 587 km of main roads are being cleaned every day by installing more than 25 mechanical sweeping machines in the state.
  • Shelter homes were set up in the state, in which the migrant people were accommodated.
  • 556 community kitchens were set up in the state.
  • The due date for depositing water and sewerage bills, property tax and the rent / tehsildar / license fees of the shops of the municipalities was further extended.
  • On the death of the sanitation workers due to COVID-19, an ex-Gratia grant of Rs. 10 lakh will be given.
  • Direction given for providing an incentive of Rs.2000 per corpse for security equipment to the priests while performing the last rites of the COVID-19 infected corpse.
